Course Description

This is the second module of a two-part series that explores the legal and ethical standards for creating clinical safety. Module 1 explores how to create and maintain clinical safety by complying with the standard of practice, scope of practice, scope of competence, therapeutic duty, and legal parameters of confidentiality. Module 2 explores how to create and maintain clinical safety by obtaining informed consent, avoiding conflicts of interest, safely terminating therapy, and safely managing crisis and high-risk issues, such as suicide risk and child abuse. Module 2 incorporates online content, reader exercises, case vignettes, and sample documentation.
